Hey again.
1996 Mercury 175 EFI
Still making minor adjustments to my engine before it’s ready to lake test. I got to wondering today. Besides smoke in my exhaust (which I’m getting), how does one know their 2 stroke engine is getting enough oil.
Also, why is there a large reservoir in the back of the boat, as well as a reservoir on the top of the engine. I did take a peek inside the reservoir on top and it is completely full. Does the oil pump draw oil from the large reservoir in the back of the boat and fill the small reservoir then move it down to the mixing chamber? I don’t want to burn up my engine.
