I have just purchased a 2005 Honda 90 outboard. It runs beautifully, and everything seems to be in order...except...at 3500rpm I am getting an intermittent alarm from under the ignition key area. At 3400 the sound goes away, and comes back at 3500. The alarm is on again off again about every 2 seconds.
I also noticed the power tilt doesn’t seem to go all the way down (the bow seems high). The boat Has a Downeaster hull, so it’s nose is naturally high but I’m not sure if it is supposed to be so high as it is. Are these 2 issues related? Could the issue be a tilt alarm? If so how do,I go about researching the issue and how do,I go about repairing it? I am technically competent and have meters, etc to analyze the problem.
thanks
