Indmar 350 not performing out of the hole

"I have a 94 Mastercraft PS 205. I replaced the engine in 2006 w fuel inj Indmar 350. This year it starts fine, runs at top end fine but when I try to pull a skier it bogs down out of the hole. It just loses power, sputters and backfires and dies. It revs fine in neutral but under a load won't go. Any suggestions?"

"I am experiencing the same problem with a 1984 Comander Marine Ford 351 in an American Skier boat. Is it possibly water in the gas? I have replaced all Ignition parts including the distributer, replaced all fuel filters, checked compression, checked timing, still fails."
 
I thought it could be bad gas

I thought it could be bad gas also but that was 2 tanks and 2 bottles of dry gas ago.

"James, I don't know if you solved your problem but I did solve mine. I replaced the gasket under the carb and the gasket under the carb spacer (PVC plate)The bottom gasket was gas soaked and porous. When the engine gets hot the gasket does not seal and you start sucking air."
