I have an 86 inline 6 115 Hp Mercury on a Bayliner Capri 1700 and steering torque is severe.

Steering torque is mild at 35 mph and severe over 40 mph. Adjustment of the trim tab didn't help much.
Top speed is 50 mph.
It has a single steering cable.
Last season steering torque was mild to moderate above 40 mph.

If the boat pulls to the right you turn the trim tab more to the right.

Is the outboard in the water enough to use the torque tab, or did you raise it?

Trim tab is for low speed...little to no effect at WOT. Better to install torque tab on skeg
