My original (I believe) 1986 cable steering is slipping, I assume the gears are stripped. I’m pulling the boat today to check it out.
Prior boat had hydraulic, Sea Star, I liked it a lot more than the old cable system.
Cost of a Seastar system is significantly higher than a NFB cable system, Baystar is cheaper, but from reviews I’ve read, most Baystar owners recommend the Seastar system for larger boats.
Uflex is also recommended, but are there any other systems worth considering?
What is everyone’s experience with a NFB cable system?
1986 Boston Whaler Outrage 18 with 1999 Honda 130.
Thanks you for any help.
