I just removed my 454 engine, Pulled my upper gear housing on my 91 DP-B Outdrive. Replaced the Primary Shaft Bearings and seals. Sarted the engine ran fine and had alittle sound coming from my new*Shaft Bearings. So I started pumping in more grease through the Zerk fitting on the Bell Housing and heard a pop from inside the housing. Now I take it I pumped in to much grease and popped a seal? I started the Engine again and all is Quiet with the bearings. But how much grease should that shaft space take? And now do you think I will have a problem with the new bearings and have to keep pumping grease to keep them lubed?
