" I would not even ponder a rebuild - my experience with rebuilt marine engines has been one of expensive frustration. If the symptoms call for a rebuild - just get a new engine and save yourself the disappointment. I agree w/ Bill Bond on the life expectancy. and flush your engine religiously! lastly, your marine exhaust manifolds will likely rust-out sooner than the engine in general - do NOT "clean them out" - just replace them, good deals on manifolds and risers can be found on the net. "
