i am thinking about putting a 75 hp on a 66 cobia cuddy cabin 21' the boat doesn't look to heavy max hp is 200. but i can get the 75 for super cheap and it was just rebuilt. what do you think top speed will be an average thanks E

In total agreement here, that's going to be one slow boat and you'll hate it. Two 75's might not be a bad idea though. To give you an idea, I have a 21 foot starcraft chieftan, it's an aluminum cuddy cabin and much lighter than the cobia you are speaking of - probably 500 to 1000 lbs less. I have a merc 115, an L6, and it's powered about right - does 35 MPH all day, have had it going about 40 on glass water, with a light load. It maxed out at no more than 30 with the original 85 HP.
