Hot spot under trolling motor head

I am looking at buying a used trolling motor off of facebook and it has a brown spot under the head of the unit where the wires go in where it looks like it got hot. It is a great deal, but I don't want to buy someone else's problem.

It is a minn kota 55lb 12volt for $200.

Is this worth getting or just keep saving up for a better one? Everything about it is exactly what I am looking for.

For $200 I guess you could take a chance and get what you pay for. I just saved and bought a new Terrova. At least I have a 60 day store return and a 2 year manufacturer warranty. But it was a grand more than the used one I could have bought. I'm happy so that has lots to do with it.
