Honda BF50A hesitation and stall

boat has twin honda 50's a

boat has twin honda 50's and both run great on hose adapter.i took it out for sea triaal and port motor hesitates when poering up and will completely stall. i have the shop manual and have read the possible problems. i am wondering if anyone knows what way i should approach this. what should i check first and such to avoid unneeded costly repairs.. any info will ne appreciated. thanks

"I had the same issue with my 50hp. That is,if I punched it from idle to wide open, it died. I figured the carbs needed work and tried a lot of carb cleaners. The best I found was B-12 by Chemtool (purchased at Advance Auto). I disconnected the small rubber hoses that are on the top of the carbs and while the engine was idling, squirted the B-12 into the carbs. It didn't completely solve the issue, but came very close. If you try this, wear protective gear (gloves / face shield / etc) because the B-12 is very "hot" and can burn your skin. Good luck."
