Hello all. I have a 1976 Johnson 9.9 HP (model 10EL76). The spark is weak on both cylinders (jumps less than 1/8 inch on spark tester and is dull orange). I have checked the driver coil and it is 2.7 Ohms. Both sets of points and condensors look great. I set the timing by adjusting the gap of the points to .020 when the crank is rotated to the "set" position. The high-tention coil primaries both check about 1.1 ohms and the secondaries check about 13.5-k ohms. The wiring and terminals all look clean and good. I'm stuck. Any suggestions? Thanks.

" FYI. I changed the points and condensors with a new "tune-up" kit and all is well with the ignition now.

Enging runs GREAT at high RPM, but misses at low RPM. Carb looks very clean inside throat, bowl and high-speed jet.

Next I'll probably try to get in to the low-speed jet and clean it. Hope that gets me going reliably. "
