I believe this is a 1994, please confirm. Mariner 40ML 6E9 L 362288

Also, Can I buy Yamaha parts for this model or is it Mercury or Quicksilver? So confused. Thank you!

The 6E9 tells me it was made by Yamaha. For Mercury Marine.

By serial number it looks to be a 1993 model year motor.

Finding Yamaha branded parts for a model of that age will most likely be your best bet. Almost non existent from Mercury. See the Yamaha parts catalogs at www.yamahaoutboards.com

There are seven 1993 Yamaha models shown. Find the one that best fits your motor. Long shaft, short shaft, manual start, electric start, jet drive, power trim and tilt, etc..
