Hey guys I have a 200hp mercury black max. Tried it out today. Got it started and went to take off. Engine died. Tried a few more times same results.
Pushed the choke in for a split second and it shot out of the water like a rocket.
Ran it for a bit stopped and idled around. Had to push the choke in for a second again to take off.
Been through the carbs they're all clean and so are the jets.
Oil is mixed a little rich (motor has been sitting gonna run it oil rich for a bit) and I didn't want to break anything the first few runs.
The engine runs excellent once I tap the choke. Aside from the prop I was running which it is turning at too many rpms. But ill remedy that tomorrow.
What could possibly be the issue?
