Hello and water pump question 2005 175

Hello all, great forum glad I found it. I have a 2005 Bayliner 175 that has sat all winter. Went to fire it up and the water pump on the front of the block is siezed. Belt is squeeling like mad. I found a new water pump, but am wondering if I have to remove the front engine mount to replace it.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Hello and water pump question

it's nice you told us the year and and the size of the boat you think we might need to know what sort of motor you have and drive maybe.

So say you have a 3.0 yes the front mount has to be removed.

Keep posting not wishing anything bad for you here mind you but i know we will be seeing more posts from you.

Good luck !

Sorry, should have mentioned it was an inline 4, but great news, I just put some pressure on it and it came free, she's running great!

Re: Hello and water pump question

If the pump bearing starts to talk to you replace the pump ASAP. Water has entered through the seals of the bearing area of the pump and rusted some parts that WILL fail when you least expect it. I would replace it.
