hard wiring minn kota fortex

I just bought a new 112 36v fortex. I rewired my boat with 4 gauge wire +/- 20 feet of wire connected to a 60 amp enclosed circut breaker which is connected to 3 12v batteries in series. I want to bypass the traditional plug for trolling motor to limit the amount of splices i have. Can i hard wire motor and install a shut off switch for when boat is stored or when charging. Is this safe or a dumb idea? The reason being is i really run trolling motor alot at or near 100% due to the fact my bass boat cannot have a typical kicker mount due to the shape of the transom. Also being most of the lakes i fish have horsepower restrictions and cannot run my big motor.

it will work well with a switch that will carry the load...the switch will not be cheap however...I would feel the plug after the motor has been drawing max amps for a while and if its not warm I would not do it..i would add some grease type battery post treatment inside the plug.....
