Hard start

1987 Johnson 25 pull start. Ha

1987 Johnson 25 pull start. Hard to start when cold. Had to give it a shot of starter fluid to crank. Will start on first pull when warm. Is there a way to check the Primer knob to ensure that it is working properly.

sounds like you need to clean/rebuild your carb.




DONT USE STARTER FLUID it has no oil so this means no lubrication..........use a 50:1 premix in a spray bottle if you want to prime it with something.
