GT 150 no spark to plugs

I have a 1989 Johnson gt150 that will not start. After much frustration at the lake, I discovered that there is no spark at any of the plugs. Where do I start troubleshooting this???

If there is a " kill switch " on the box check it.--------------Check the key switch , on / off circuit.----------------------OR --------Open the big red plug and crank it over ( directly to starter ) and see if there is spark.-----------Did it quit all of a sudden ???

The boat last ran June 2010. Ran like S---T because the fuel was full of debris and the filter clogged. Took it home, drained the tank, new filter. Back to the lake didn't happen for a year. KILL SWITCH?!!!!!!!!!!! Good thing I posted this thread or I would have beat my forehead to a bloody pulp. It's 10:00 pm and I cannot fire up the motor, but the kill switch was pulled. I feel stupid and relieved at the same time. THANK YOU!!!!!
