The gimbal bearing is a common bearing used on may applications such as trucks with two drive shafts.

You used to be able to get the main bearing assembly from any truck or bearing supply location until Merc flexed its muscle and put a stop to it. the bearing was 1/2 the cost of the assembly that merc sold at the time.
