Does anyone know where I can find a Carb for a 88' Gamefisher 9.9 motor? I've tried sears parts direct and its obsolete. Also I cant get the motor to suck gas. I have to pump the bulb every minute or so to keep it running at high rpm. It will run for a while idling or at low speed. Any information on a carb would be great. Thanks.
 
Profile? Location?Serial #s?? Gotta have them so we know exactly what carb you need.

boats. net has some carbs.Your motor is an 88 Force model.
The fuel pump is probaly bad.A simple rebuild will fix the pump.
Is the fuel pump on the carb?Pics will help too.
Ethanol is screwing up a lot of older hoses.Inline connectors too.
It's possible the seal in the connectors has gone bad,allowing it to suck air.
Remove them and don't replace.

I replied by email but I guess it didnt work. Anyway I have found a carb to fit this motor on boats.net. As far as the gas problem goes, all the gaskets and diaphram have been replaced on the fuel pump. I took all the lines off and blew through the pump and lines and air passes through freely. I have read that you can replace the fuel pump cover and fix the problem but I cant see anything on the cover to keep it from sucking gas. The model number on this motor is 225.581998 I have also replaced the short block assembly and all gaskets on the whole motor. Thanks.
