fuel line size for 87' 48spl

final added a fuel filter, because several time last summer float got stuck, may help, may not ,will see. question is 5/16 line ok? brass fitting on filter housing are 1/4. ok?

Put 5/16 fittings on the filter. You don't mess around with fuel systems !!

Agreed.....why? Not adequate flow, considering all the other disruptions and restrictions between the tank and the carburator. 1/4" is for small outboards.

ok thanks, went with 3/8 fittings and hose, but now wondering what size fittings are on 6 gallon tanks, been running them for 7 years , o-well

Most are 5/16". But of course the OMC tanks use a coupling, commonly in 5/16 or 3/8. I have successfully clamped fresh 3/8" hose to a 5/16", if you have a tank without the coupling and a fixed fitting you don't want to change.
