The other day it was rough out

The other day it was rough out and I had the fuel alarm go off a couple times. The fuel filter was brand new so I switched over to the Aux. tank and the alarm went away.

I understand this alarm is triggered by a vacuum sensor on the motor and that a restricted fuel line will trigger an alarm but does the sensor trip if you lose fuel pressure? Say your tank is getting low and you suck air into the fuel line?

I ask this because later in the day the water laid down I switched back to the main tank and the problem didn’t reoccur. The tank was low on fuel and I’m thinking that the sloshing around could have allowed the fuel pump to suck air from time to time

the fuel restriction sensor, works off of 'rrestricion' ,free 'suction' wont set it off,...ck your anti syphon valve,on fuel line,at tank.there is a ball in there that sticks when the alum housing gets corroded."
