flywheel spins, no spark, 2 cycle mariner

Hello, my name is Stephen and i'm new to this forum. I have been enjoying the fishing in Savannah for quite some time until my later 90's 30hp Mariner stopped working. I have done some trouble shooting and i have narrowed it down to the spark plugs getting no spark. But the starter spins and turns the flywheel with no hesistation or low speed. I am still getting fuel to the combustion chamber and i do have the correct fuel/oil ratio, which is 50:1. Could anyone please tell me what are the possible culprits in the electrical system that is not allowing for a spark??

First, make sure the kill circuit is open. Find the wire that goes to the ON/OFF switch and disconnect it at the spark box.

No spark from either coil? Next, check the trigger circuit and stator. Use this chart. http://www.outboardignition.com/page39.asp

Wy? 'Cause this can be done with a meter. Not possible to check the spark box with a meter.

I see on this 30 HP that the switchbox is built into the coil. He should be able to ohm it.
