I have a pair of 115 four strokes and have been through the complete VST/injectors getting plugged education. I know in our case part of the problem was having a 25 micron quicksilver water separator filter rather than the 10 micron yamaha. (that's been rectified) I know of 4 filter points on the engine, and if there are more please let me know.
1) a filter in the water inspection bowl on back of engine.
2) an in line filter between mechanical pump and vst.
3) the VST filter/screen on bottom of high pressure pump.
4) filters/screen for each injector.
Does anyone know what the micron size of each of these filters is? As easy as 1&2 are to get at I'm most concerned with the vst and injector filters. My thought is if they are smaller than the 10 micron yamaha filter wouldn't it make sense to add another filter in series with the existing 10 micron filter that is up stream from the engines where they are easy to get at? If they are 10 micron or larger things should be fine as is.
