Fiber washers

Used on smaller motors as a rule.-------Not shown for your 115 HP model.----The 1998 were the last year of the crossflow motors.----Why the question ?----Motor running fine or issues with it ?
 
thanks for clarifying i wasn't sure if not using or not using fiber washers would affect firing IE: short out coil
would a fiber washer any were on ignition affect firing this is an ongoing project i finally found a year specific manual for the motor and in the final stages of reassembly the question arose from every were you watch or in the manual it says remember the sequence the washers came off of ignition coil but doesn't give the sequence thanks again for the help
 
So was the whole motor apart ?----4 new pistons installed ?----That motor was basically the same from about 1991 to the last year of production 1998.
 
Need to ask.----Why was motor taken apart ?----What issues did you have?-----What parts were bad inside the motor ?
