Evinrude V-4 compatibility question

Hello, i was wondering if someone could inform me of whether i could use the powerhead from a 1972 85hp(92.6 cid) in the place of a 1981 90hp(99.6 cid). Thanks.

Not a chance.----For one thing the splines in the crankshaft and on the end of the driveshaft are totally different.-----It will not work !!
