Evinrude spring

My spring has broke loose on 1987 evinride 35hp and for life of me can't figure where or how it clamps back on this post? Any insight?
Part number is 0321721 i just qonder if there are specials clips/clamps/or some type of locking thT holds spring to the apparent post on left most side of spring ? Picture attached

Update pic wont attach, but it is the return spring that keep tension and appears to help keep timing up thru w.o.t

The one side just goes in a hole in that arm.-----The other side slides in a groove on a post.------
