Evinrude 6 hp. Fisherman

My 1973 6 hp Evinrude outboard motor will not run continuously unless I squeeze the bulb every minute or two. Other than that it runs just fine. I checked (and cleaned ) the screen filter. The gas goes through and it was also clean. I just bought a new feed hose and plunger assembly from marineengine.com.

Can you please help ?

A wonderful motor.----Likely needs a new diaphragm in the fuel pump.----How did it run for you last season?----Also inspect the hose and pick-up tube inside the fuel tank.----Any other issues ?----Does motor have new coils installed ?
