Evinrude 175 V6 (1989) constant alarm and cuts the power.

Hi, I have a Evinrude 175xp V6 (1989). My problem is that after for about 5 min of running a constant alarm goes on and its start shaking and cuts the RPM to about 2500. I had my thermostats changed last year and i think its not a problem with the cooling. I read somewhere that this is the S.L.O.W mode kicking in. Could this be a problem with the VRO system or what is going on? Does anybody hade the same issues?

Get a temp gun and check the motor temp. It could also be a bad temp sender or a bad power pack.

Do you know what temperature it should normally be? Going to test it on friday.
