I have an intermittent electrical problem that is stumping me. A customer’s Evinrude 150 is losing power to the ignition circuit. It seems to happen only when the engine is hot. The entire ignition circuit loses power, no trim tilt, no Power at all to key switch. And then, after a few minutes, it works. Always works first time when cold.
I checked all the fuses and they all appeared fine. Replaced a few that were just old. Same problem.
It’s a problem that I witnessed once but the boat starting working before I could troubleshoot it. Then it’s all just owner telling me. I have not been there with my electric meter to test it when it happens And see where the power is stopping.
Any ideas?
