Evinrude 110 with hard miss and only 2200rpm.

I have an Evinrude E110TLC that when up to speed for a couple of minutes has a hard violent miss and will not get over 2200-2500RPM's any ideas as what this could be?

Sounds like an ignition miss.--------Inspect sparkplugs for signs of mechanical damage.---------Put a timing light on it to try annd pinpoint which cylinder is acting up.

It would sound that way to me it stops so violently that it sounds like all 4 cylinders at once.

Why not put the timing light on it and see what is happening ??????????????????

I plan on that as well. I keep hearing of a "block sensor" it sounds like a temp sensor on the lower RH side of the block that go bad an shuts off the electronic.

The timing light would CERTAINLY tell you if there is a spark issue -------------then you can investigate that further.----Best to do a compression test first.-------------Just took a 110-HP apart , had broken piston rings on #1 and #3.
