" I have a Pleasurecraft / Ford 351 half fresh water cooled, half raw water cooled. I've replaced the spark plugs, Cap, rotor, points, condenser, fuel separator, changed the oil and filter, flushed the fresh water system, checked the dwell and timing, and cleaned the carb. Yet after all the work the engine still idles rough. The manufacturer recommends idle RPM to be set at 650. I set it at 650 but it spikes to 700 to 750 periodically. The engine dosen't rev when it spikes. Sometimes it acts like it wants to stall - but just for a second. It's almost like it's missing. Any ideas what I can check for? It also idled rough before I did all the repairs.
Thanks
