Good day, I have johnson 50hp 2 stroke 1983.
On Saturday I used the boat and all went well, on Sunday I went to the boat and it wouldn't start, motor turned over but wouldn't fire. Checked the basics kill switch fuel on and primer bulb hard. Went through connectors on cdi ect. Then it started but sounded rough like not running on both cylinders. I then measured the voltage on the regulator and only getting 12.5 volts and noticed all my gauges were dead, checked auxiliary supply and got shocked! Getting 150volts ac hows is this possible? Turned off engine and got a reading of 11.8 volts dc no load. Could there be a short on the stator/regulator? Any help please thank you
