"I have a 1986 DT-85, at least

"I have a 1986 DT-85, at least by the serial numbers. However I've found discrepancies in my Clymer service manual. It shows the '85-'86 DT85 to only have two cylinders on the manifold. It states with this set up to fill the reservoir with it all the way down. My manifold has a center tilt cylinder and a trim cylinder on either side of it like Clymer shows for 1987 and up. It says to fill the reservoir with this unit tilted all the way up. It also shows the resevoir on the 85-86 to have one filler hole and the 1987 and up to have 2 level holes. Mine only has 1 level hole and it is on the starboard side.

My question is do I fill it tilted up or down ???? The boat it's on is a 1987 but Brown's Point claims that by the serial number, the engine is a 1986. The engine was installed when the boat was purchased new."
