drive shaft removal

cannot figure out how to remove drive shaft to replace pinion gear on 2010 merc out board.lower unit is off and prop shaft is removed. gear was broke in half. 50 horse 2 stroke

Remove the nut on the bottom of the drive shaft and the gear will slide off.
