hi what is the differance between a evinrude 1971 100 hp 100193A 100193C motor

Sorta makes one wonder what happened to 100193B doesn't it?

Seriously that last digit isn't even included in the OMC model guide book, nor is it listed in any of the parts or service manual books. It's just a factory run number that is of no consequence or importance to the engine itself.
