cylinder head bolt torque bf40

The 10 x 1.25 bolts are 29 ft-lb (coat the threads and seating services with oil)

The 8 x 1.25 bolts are 20 ft-lb

The BF 30A head bolt torque value for the 8 x 1.25 bolts is 21 ft lb. Once you get it to that torque, then tighten the bolt another 90 degrees.

As a side note...the information that I gave on the 40 is not exactly correct. I have just found two different torque values for the larger bolts with washers. I said that it was 29 ft lb. One spec book says that but also to tighten the bolt another 90 degrees. Another book (just as current says 27.5 ft lb then tighten another 90 degrees.)

I am not sure what the real torque is...

Please note to anyone looking for the 40 HP torque, the values in the previous post was not quite correct. I am sending a private message to marooned to be sure he gets the updated info.

I will update this post when I find out the correct value.
