Hi,
I have a 1992 40hp Yamaha 2 stroke. It started and ran great when I brought it out of winterization a few weeks ago. Got it down to the water yesterday, and it started fine, but kept cutting out after about 5 seconds. Did that probably 20 times then I gave up.
Bulb stays hard. Vent is open on tank cap, and I removed tank cap as well and there was no big suction of air, so it appears to be breathing.
Gas: 4 gals new, 1 gal of Stabil-ized from last season.
I can rev it right after it starts, but it still cuts out. Seems like it is starved of fuel (?). Any advice appreciated!
