"I recently bought a 1996 trojan express,with twin
502xl, they are fresh water cooled,and electronic ignition ,I had a guy pull the risers,
he immediatley said,i need all knew manifolds and risers,the manifolds really didnt look that bad ,i found and old school,he came down,said there was nothing wrong with the manifolds.
We finally got all the risers chaged out,We took
it out,we could get the port engien up to 4000
but the starboard wouldnt get past 3600,and started back firing a couple times,guy told me to change out the plugs and wires,and have the timing done.Question :does this sound correct.
Ive had three machnics so far at $85.00 and up
and I feel all these guys are doing is trying to sell me a job.Any advice"
