Crusader 270 choke

I have a 1978 Carver with twin Crusader 270's with V-drives. I am going to have the carbs rebuilt and the chocks currently are not hooked up The mechanic doing the rebuild has suggested that I hook up the chokes. So as of now I had two questions.

There is a 0 deg. and a 12 deg. What is the difference and which should I use?

I see many sites say some of the types are not available. Does anyone have a good source for replacements?

Thanks for assistance and input.

The difference is due to the way Crusader (TEC) did their spare parts setup....the only difference should be the length of the link in their "assembly". Assuming you have everything and only the link was disconnected, it won't matter - the coil inside should be the same.

From what I just saw, the original parts are NLA and they want > $60 for the choke assembly....I'd be incline to find a divorce choke coil off a truck from the early 70's at a parts store....You might also check the Sierra catalog via the parts link at the top of the page...if that doesn't work, I'd call Cliff ...
