Crankcase?

I have 2 engines one 1977115hp model 115el77s and 1978 115ml78c I blow the cylinder in the 77 . Will the 78 head interchange? The 78 transom mount is shot.

The heading says 'crank case', the thread says 'head'?
Crank cases are not interchangeable between cylinders as they are machined together as one unit.

Sorry I ment power head are they interchangeable for those years? I also have a 1979 140 Evinrude bubble back powerhead.

Any of them, the base gasket is the same.
