Corrosion under water pump housing casket

2018 75HP ELPT 4 stroke no salt water use...
While cleaning things up for reassy after installing new water pump impeller, I noticed corrosion under the rear of the housing gasket that has lifted the paint. It has ate into the aluminum a bit so I'm not sure the casket would seal there. Should I use a water proof sealer under the gasket, clean and repaint or ignore it? I'm afraid that in 3-4 years when another pump maint is due it'll be much worse if I don't do something now.

Permatex No. 3 Aviation-Type non-hardening gasket dressing would be suitable as a corrosion barrier for the gasket surface.

You should be able to get the 4 oz brush-in-bottle online or at most local auto parts stores.
