Connection

I am trying to connect a 8 Pin remote Control unit (Mercury part # 16904A15) to a 1979 Chrysler 115 (model# 1157H9B).
The motor has 8 labeled connection points. Start, Generator, Tach, Choke, Heat, Battery, Ignition, Ground.
Will this work? Any helpful advice would be appreciated.

The 8 pin's for a newer model outboard.
Sometime in the 80's ??? they standardized the color code.
Before that different companies used what ever they wanted.
The choke: orange.
Ground: black.
Start: yellow/red tracer.
Fuel sender: pink.
Battery: red.
Choke: green.
From there maybe somebody can add more??
