"I have posted about my recent "blow-by" issue.
My question is that if there is excessive blow-by, shouldn't this show up in compression readings?
If I do a compression test, I should have a lower reading with blow-by.......correct?
The readings will be better on a "wet" test with oil in the cylinders. Is that right?
Anyone?

"You can get good compression readinga and still have blow-by. Rather than a compression test, do a leakdown test."

What other explanation for blow-by besides rings do you have? The internal parts looked good before I put the engine in. I tore down the lower end. And it looked good. Marine engines take a BIGGER beating than automotive, that's for sure.
