compatible lower units ??

I have a '94 9.9 Mariner 0G008231 that has bad main bearing it runs but has wobbled so much that it broke one magnet in the flywheel. I found a guy that is selling a 2000 9.9 Merc 0T37818 and his lower unit is not repairable. I checked the parts catalog and the gear housing, drive shaft, and shift shaft is the same. Is there any thing I am overlooking in putting my lower unit on his motor and get boating again? Both are short shafts and I need to check and be certain that his power head is worth using over rebuilding mine but I got to be sure about swapping the lower units first. Thanks
