"I just rebuilt a 318 in my garage, and i was wondering if there is a good way to break it in."

"You bet. Set it up on blocks

"You bet. Set it up on blocks--with a chain hoist above it taking a mild strain. Make up fittings to connect a water hose to the raw water inlet, then crank her up.

I ran my new long block for half and hour that way.
