"I have a Volvo Penta 4.3 in an 18 foot Glastron, its a 2000. The temp gauge shows 100 to 110 even after fully warm. Mechanic said I should replace the thermostat cause its stuck open. I have been told it is really easy, even for someone who doesn't work on engines. Any tips to a novice? A friend has already said to put a little oil on the gasket before you put it in. I never would have thought of that... Is there more little "tricks" that might help up my chances of sucess? Any help would be appreciated."
