the heads are off,stll can't turn the engine over,damn. is it worth it to rebuild motor it's a 283 from 65-67 or would it be better to modernize the whole system. i have rebuilt truck and car engines before and i still have the points dist and a few other parts. just need a diagram from the flywheel to the transom. whats in there.?

Is the engine locked up or is it the outdrive ????

You may be able to find engine parts but parts for the drive will kill you. How much sentiment do you have for the boat? What condition is the deck and transom? Do a complete survey it may be cost effective to drop the boat at your local recycler and have them give it a tuneup with a D-9 cat.
