I have a 1996 johnson j40tleds is there a possibility a broken kill switch wire can cause a engine to enter slow mode? I ask because i took my boat out and engine ran great next time i took it out the next time and boat would not turn off when turning key off and the boat wont go about like 2200 rpm. I had to flood the engine to kill it. Ive found the break and fixed the kill wire but have not gone to test it due to work.
