Broken pin in red plug

Hi guys!

I have a Johnson 30hp -89 with remote control.
The engine is running great, but it wont shut off when turning the key or pulling the safety switch.

I've noticed that one pin in the big red plug has broken, and as far as I can see it's the pin for the black/yellow ignition kill wire (which of course would explain the behavior).

The question is what the best way is to fix this.
Is there anyway to open the red plug and replace the pin?

Or should I simply open the wire harness on both engine side and controlbox-side of the plug, locate the yellow/black wire and bypass the plug for this one pin?

Common problem. Common cure= Cut the black/yellow wire on both sides of that large RED plug, splice on wires so that you can connect them via a knife connector and jump over the RED plug, cover the connector with electrical tape.

Great! I'll do that!
Thanks!
