Well folks. I purchased a brand new 9.8 tohatsu kicker motor installed on boat. Gases it up after 45 minutes still would not run ... so I checked for gas. Pulled the lines gas to the pump. Pumping to the carb. Pulled the plugs. Getting spark ..wth !! So started to look around the carb. Notice a small screw with a gasket hmmm unscrewed it and noticed clean oil coming out. WTH is that. Left the screw out hit the starter and more oil came streaming out ... then once the oil cleared ..screwed the it back in and the motor fired right up .... so 1 why was there oil in the carb ? It’s it a packing oil. Ran the motor for 30 minutes and now starts fine ... drove he crazy for a couple hours. Has anyone seen this before ?
